This is a picture of me, and my partner, Jerry Larkins, right before his operation in September. During the operation, he had a stroke, and declined steadily until on December 27th, 2006, he passed away. Why am I telling you this? Because if we were married, it would be alot easier to settle his estate.

Since we weren't, I've had to sell his car at auction because the DMV would not transfer it into my name so I could sell it myself.

I have had to fight for his life insurance, his 401K account and his Long Term Disability payments.

I am now fighting to get our home transferred to my name, but the city is giving me trouble.

Marriage (or whatever they want to CALL it) would prevent this from happening to another one of us. When you lose your spouse, it is awful enough — but to have to deal with the aftermath just makes me mad.
