Connecticut Ends Gay Couples' Exclusion from Marriage
Connecticut joined Massachusetts as the next state to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage with the Connecticut Supreme Court ruling to uphold the freedom to marry in Kerrigan and Mock v. the CT Department of Public Health on October 10, 2008. The case was brought by Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders on behalf of eight same-sex couples who sought to end marriage discrimination in Connecticut.
