Indiana
Indiana civil rights advocates, citizens, and legislators fought for over two years to stop marriage discrimination from being written into their state constitution. In April 2007, the anti-marriage constitutional amendment was rejected by a House committee. State advocacy groups continue to work against discrimination and for the freedom to marry for same-sex couples and their families in Indiana.

on the geographic trends among same-sex couples. The report finds the
biggest increases in Southern and Mountain states and states barring
legal acceptance of same-sex couples had larger percentage increases
in same-sex couples from 2000 to 2006.
