Wyoming
In 2007, the Wyoming state legislature defeated a bill that would bar Wyoming from recognizing out of state marriages between same-sex couples. A statute already excludes same-sex couples from marriage in Wyoming. Multiple Republican state legislators came out in support of equality, as a result of the discriminatory bill being discussed. State advocacy groups and citizens across the state of Wyoming continue to work for marriage equality.
