NJ State Senate passes marriage bill

Today on a 24-16 vote, the New Jersey State Senate passed legislation to extend marriage to gay and lesbian couples in the Garden State. The Assembly is scheduled to vote on Thursday.

Today, we're excited to launch our Democrats: Say I Do campaign, calling on the national Democratic Party to include a plank supporting gay and lesbian couples’ freedom to marry in the party’s 2012 platform. The platform will be ratified at the Democratic National Convention, which begins September 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
