Over the past few weeks, members of the Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry leadership committee have been speaking out about why they support marriage for all couples, and why their fellow conservatives, Republicans, or Libertarians should join them in calling for the freedom to marry.

This week, Anglican Bishop Alan Wilson, who has served as the Bishop of Buckingham in the Diocese of Oxford for the Church of England since 2003, recorded a video as part of Out 4 Marriage, a British campaign that encourages prominent individuals to express their support for the freedom to marry.
French Prime Minister says government will introduce marriage bill in October

Jean-Marc Ayrault, the Prime Minister of France, announced this weekend that his government will introduce a bill to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage in France, to the Parliament this fall.

San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, one of the chairs of our Mayors for the Freedom to Marry coalition, has filmed a new television advertisement with the Human Rights Campaign and Freedom to Marry where he speaks out about why he supports the freedom to marry for all couples and why other conservatives should do the same. The TV spot is set to air in the Tampa area during the Republican National Convention next week.

This week, over thiry prominent Latino organizations signed onto a group filing that encourages Congress to pass immigration reform legislation, including legislation that would eliminate immigration discrimination for same-sex couples.
Maryland’s marriage referendum language finalized for November ballot

On Monday, Maryland's Secretary of State released the approved language for the ballot initiative that will appear on the November 6 ballot in Maryland. The ballot initiative, Question 6, is entitled, the "Civil Marriage Protection Act."
