This morning, a Senate committee in Nevada voted to advance a legislative measure that would repeal the state's anti-marriage amendment and replace it with the freedom to marry. The vote is the first step in the process of winning the freedom to marry for all Nevadans.

Today, legislators in Delaware will introduce legislation to extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples. At 2:30 p.m., a press conference to formally announce the introduction of the bill to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage will be held in Wilmington.

Tonight, the lower House in Uruguay voted in favor of legislation that will extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples, marking the final vote in the process of ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage across he country.

Yesterday, the Senate in France approved the most significant portion of a bill that would extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples, all but assuring that France will become the latest country to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage.

This weekend, Frank Roberts and Jerry Cook celebrated their 20th anniversary with an extra special present: A wedding. After two decades together, the couple married on April 7, 2013 in Georgetown in the District of Columbia.

Today, Illinois Rep. Ed Sullivan announced that he will vote for the freedom to marry on the IL House marriage bill. He is the second Republican representative in IL to pledge his support.

So far in 2013, over a dozen U.S. Senators announced that they support the freedom to marry for same-sex couples, and by the first week of April, a majority of the U.S. Senate publicly supported marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Here are the statements from all of the Senators who have spoken out this year in favor of marriage.

This morning, two additional Senators - Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN) and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) announced support for the freedom to marry. Now, 53 U.S. Senators support marriage for same-sex couples.

Today, Sen. Bill Nelson announced that he supports the freedom to marry for same-sex couples, making him the 51st Senator in today's Congress to do so. A majority of the United States Senate now has announced support for the freedom to marry.
