Yesterday, U.S. District Court Judge Barbara Jones ruled in 'Windsor v. United States' that DOMA's Section 3, which defines marriage as a relationship between a man and a woman, is unconstitutional.

Today, anti-gay activists in Washington state submitted enough signatures to place the freedom to marry on the November 2012 ballot. The law will appear on the November ballot in the form of Referendum 74, which asks Washington residents to decide whether or not to uphold the freedom to marry in the state.

This morning, CNN and ORC International released the results from a new national survey on the freedom to marry. The survey once again indicated that a majority of Americans - 54 percent - support marriage for same-sex couples.

In the past year, a record number of U.S. businesses and corporations - have thrown their support behind campaigns pushing for marriage for same-sex couples. The business sector clearly finds it important for public relations and logistical operations to work on behalf of same-sex couples.

Later today, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal will announce a filing in Perry v. Brown, the case that revolves around Proposition 8, which struck down the freedom to marry in California in 2008.
