Today, the Illinois House of Representatives voted in favor of the Religious Freedom and Fairness Act, affirming that same-sex couples across the state should have the freedom to marry. Governor Quinn has promised to sign the bill into law, ensuring that Illinois will soon become the fifteenth state where same-sex couples can marry!

Bryan Kawika La Madrid, an active duty soldier from Hawaii, is currently stationed in Texas, having previously served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He couldn't be at the hearings to testify about why marriage matters to him - but he took the time this week to record a sweet video about why he wants Hawaii to pass the marriage bill.

Yesterday, on October 31, 3013, after several years in court, the Missouri Supreme Court issued its ruling in Kelly's case. In a 5-2 decision, they declared that Kelly should not receive any of the survivor benefits.

Today, October 30, the Hawaii Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of a bill that would extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples in Hawaii. Now, the bill will be placed before the House, beginning tomorrow morning.

Yesterday, October 28, a key Hawaii committee voted to advance a bill to extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples in Hawaii. The Senate Judiciary and Labor Committee voted 5-2 to send the bill to the full Senate, where a vote is expected this week.

This week, Freedom Indiana, the state-wide coalition in Indiana working to defeat a proposed constitutional amendment that would permanently ban any and all protections for same-sex couples and their families, launched a new campaign, 'Moms for Freedom,' harnessing the energy of mothers across the state who oppose restricting freedom in the state.
