Mainers United for Marriage outlined its case today for revising the draft language for the citizen's initiative that voters will decide on during the November election. The draft language released last week reads, "Do you want to allow same-sex couples to marry?"

A new poll released out of Washington state yesterday indicated that 51% of voters there believe the freedom to marry should be "legal."

Last week, the Montana Democratic Party approved a freedom to marry plank in the official party platform. Now, MT Senator Max Baucus, who voted to approve the so-called Defense of Marriage Act in 1996, is applauding the decision.
