In November, Marylanders will be asked to uphold the freedom to marry, for all loving and committed couples, a law that was signed by the governor in March. Lindsey Dawson and Jessica Chipoco, who are engaged to be married in Maryland in March 2013, are one of the couples who will be affected by the vote. After requesting Supreme Court review of two DOMA cases in July, the Obama administration's Department of Justice requested review of two more cases - Windsor v. United States and Pedersen v. Office of Personnel Management. The Supreme Court now faces potential review of four different DOMA challenges, with multiple requests for review in each challenge.

Today, Freedom to Marry announced a pledge to match donations up to $200,000 to the "Yes on 1" campaign through the end of September. The $200,000 contribution from our Win More States Fund would bring our total investment in Maine to $1 million this year.
