The program is the newest way you can contribute to United for Marriage, our joint partnership with the Human Rights Campaign and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force to mobilize volunteers for the ballot states.

This month, Freedom to Marry is teaming up with Marriage Equality USA to harness the energy of marriage advocates in New York City and help make the case for marriage in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington, where marriage for same-sex couples will be on the ballot on Election Day.
TV ads highlighting Question 6’s protections for religious freedom air in Maryland

Both ads feature African-American pastors emphasizing that Question 6 would allow for civil marriages between same-sex couples and that religious freedom would still be protected; that is, churches and religious institutions could still refuse to perform marriages for same-sex couples.

Political advertisements are dominating the television airwaves this fall, and in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington, where marriage-related ballot initiatives will be put to a vote on Election Day, many of those TV ads focus on why marriage matters for same-sex couples. Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington all debuted new TV ads this week. Check them out!
Married California couple hosts National Engagement Party to support ballot campaigns

Robert and Andy know that no couple should be denied that same feeling of security, or the same opportunity to publicly express their decision to join together in marriage. That's why they're hosting a house party for our National Engagement Party, which will be celebrated across the country tomorrow, October 13 to raise money to support the state ballot campaigns in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington.

This month, the campaign to win marriage for same-sex couples in Maryland is getting an all-star push from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. In addition to supporting the campaign with a sizable donation, Mayor Bloomberg has been advocating on behalf of Maryland couples through emails and other communications.
Nordstrom supports the freedom to marry in Washington state

Today, apparel retailer Nordstrom announced their support for the freedom to marry by officially endorsing Washington United for Marriage, the coalition of pro-marriage organizations working to uphold the freedom to marry by approving Referendum 74 at the ballot on November 6.

At the end of the month, nearly a dozen musical acts, including fun., will join together in New York City for the Freedom to Love Now! concert. In addition to fun., the concert event will feature superstar performers like Rufus Wainwright, They Might Be Giants, and The National. All of the proceeds from the October 30 event will benefit Freedom to Marry.
