They're joining Freedom to Marry in our new Say, "I Do" campaign aimed at President Obama – and we want you to join them in asking the president to publicly state his support for the freedom to marry.

As part of our new national education campaign Why Marriage Matters, we're telling the stories of gay couples to show that they want to get married for the same reasons as anyone: love, family, and commitment. Kate and Nicole say they're doubly lucky – because they found each other, and because they were able to get married in their home state of California during the brief window when it was legal.

The delay gives us more time to continue to share personal stories of why marriage matters, contact legislators, and make the case for why the freedom to marry is critical for all families, including gay and lesbian ones.
