A Superior Court judge has refused to hear the divorce case of a lesbian couple, but questioned whether the law that barred the women from ending their marriage unconstitutionally denied them a right enjoyed by non-gay Rhode Islanders. [Link]

Dean Logan, acting registrar-recorder and county clerk in Los Angeles County, says it's impossible to know for sure how many couples will show up at his offices next week. Just in case of such an onrush, county offices will be open late and on Saturdays for at least the next two weeks, and maybe longer. [Link]
