Freedom to Marry Voice for Equality, Senator Daylin Leach, is one of the LGBT community's strongest allies.
He is the sponsor of a Freedom to Marry bill in Pennsylvania, and last week successfully led the effort to table an amendment to Pennsylvania's constitution, sponsored by State Senator John Eichelberger, to effectively ban marriage equality.

Let California Ring—a coalition of more than 50 local, state-wide and national organizations led by Equality California Institute—has been looking closely at which messages about the freedom to marry are the most effective, who the best messengers are and how audiences receive those messages.
Let California Ring coalition member, Freedom to Marry, has just completed a new study of which messages and messengers have been most effective over the past five years in California and across the country. Following up on our Oscar Challenge, do you think Sandra Bullock was referring in part to the freedom to marry when she thanked her late mother for teaching her that there is "no race, no religion, no class system, no color, no sexual orientation that makes us better than anyone else"?

Three major candidates running for governor of Rhode Island have promised to support and sign a bill honoring marriages of same-sex couples if elected.
General Treasurer Frank Caprio and Attorney General Patrick Lynch, both Democrats, and former Sen. Lincoln Chafee, who is running in November as an independent, made the pledge at a Statehouse rally organized by Marriage Equality Rhode Island on Wednesday before more than 200 people.
