Today, Ashley Broadway, the wife of a female Army officer who captured headlines this year when she was denied full membership for the Association of Bragg Officers' Spouses, was revealed as the winner of Fort Bragg's "Spouse of the Year" award. Earlier this week, Ashley and her wife, Army Lt. Col. Heather Mack, celebrated the birth of their second child.

This weekend, Penelope Gnesin and Brenda Sue Fulton became the first same-sex couple to marry at Cadet Chapel, a landmark chapel at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Fulton is a graduate from West Point, and she and Gnesin have been together for seventeen years.
