According to Iowa Family Policy Center President, Chuck Hurley, homosexual activity is “more dangerous for individuals who engage in it than is smoking,” and because of this, state lawmakers need to pass a constitutional amendment overturning last year’s Iowa Supreme Court decision which supports same-sex couples entering into committed, government sanctioned marriages.

U.S. researchers have found an increase in psychiatric disorders among the lesbian, gay and bisexual populations living in states that have banned the freedom to marry.
Senior author Deborah Hasin, a professor of clinical epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, and colleagues at the New York state Psychiatric Institute and Harvard University analyzed data from the National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions.

Bryan Dickenson and Bill Sugg have been together for 30 years. After Sugg suffered a debilitating stroke in September, Dickinson requested time off from his job at AT&T under the federal Family Medical Leave Act to care for his partner. But AT&T is refusing to grant Dickenson the 12 weeks of leave that would be afforded to a heterosexual spouse under the act. [Link]
