This weekend, on Saturday, March 9, Freedom to Marry's National Campaign Director Marc Solomon was presented with the Congressman Gerry E. Studds Visibility Award. The award honors "individuals of integrity and selflessness who embody the spirit of service and provide positive leadership for the LGBT community."

Today in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Freedom to Marry's National Campaign Director Marc Solomon testified before the Democratic Party Platform Drafting Committee on the importance of marriage for same-sex couples. Tomorrow, Chief Warrant Officer Charlie Morgan of the New Hampshire National Guard, and her wife, Karen, will share their own testimony, explaining the ways in which the so-called Defense of Marriage Act harms them and other same-sex couples.

Anti-gay groups in Washington submit signatures to put marriage law on 2012 ballot

Today, anti-gay activists in Washington state submitted enough signatures to place the freedom to marry on the November 2012 ballot. The law will appear on the November ballot in the form of Referendum 74, which asks Washington residents to decide whether or not to uphold the freedom to marry in the state.
