At the end of the month, nearly a dozen musical acts, including fun., will join together in New York City for the Freedom to Love Now! concert. In addition to fun., the concert event will feature superstar performers like Rufus Wainwright, They Might Be Giants, and The National. All of the proceeds from the October 30 event will benefit Freedom to Marry.

Musician dedicates wedding song to NY couple Chris and Carl for Freedom to Marry

As a wedding gift to her friends Chris and Carl, Lindsay Katt wrote and recorded "My Home," a song about the love they've shared for ten years. She produced a slideshow with the song and screened it during the wedding, and now the song is available on iTunes and other music distribution sites. When the Fall 2012 television season starts up again in a few weeks, viewers will be treated to more prominent same-sex relationships than we've seen in most recent TV seasons. In addition to a number of returning strongholds on shows like Glee, Modern Family, and Grey's Anatomy, this season will introduce two new series - The New Normal and Partners - with leading characters in same-sex relationships.

These cupcakes may not be the official Freedom to Marry cupcake, but this simple display of rainbow baked goods and the Freedom to Marry logo was really significant for me. It represented how my family has become more open about discussing gay issues and how confidently my mother is willing to assert that her son is an advocate for marriage.
