Nearly one month ago, Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) said he would decide "very quickly" whether or not he would cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act. But after we delivered hundreds of constituent signatures to his office over a week ago, we're still waiting.

On November 3rd, the Senate Judiciary Committee will begin mark-up on the Respect for Marriage Act, the bill that will overturn DOMA.

In the past week, Rep Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Rep Bobby Rush (D-IL), and Rep Rick Larsen (D-WA) signed on as cosponsors of the Respect for Marriage Act, bringing the total number of cosponsors to a record-breaking 128 in the House.

Since the launch of our joint campaign with Marriage Equality Rhode Island, Ocean State Action, and Courage Campaign last week, over 1,000 Rhode Islanders have called on Senator Jack Reed to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act.
