Today, Mayor Karl Dean of Nashville, Tennessee became the first mayor in Tennessee to join Mayors for the Freedom to Marry. With his support, the Mayors for the Freedom to Marry program now includes mayors from all 14 Southern states.

Today the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, VA ruled in favor of same-sex couples’ freedom to marry, upholding a marriage ruling out of Virginia from February.

Today, July 17, a state judge struck down Florida’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples, marking the 25th consecutive ruling in favor of the freedom to marry (with no rulings against) since June 2013.

Yesterday, May 19, a diverse group of faith leaders from Kentucky launched Kentucky Faith Leaders for Marriage, an effort to show that clergy members and people of faith across the Commonwealth of Kentucky support marriage because of their faith, not in spite of it.
