This year, Jorge Goytizolo in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is mourning the death of his husband, Philip Parrish, who passed away in May after a sudden diagnosis of brain cancer. Now, Jorge is working hard to protect his twin children, Santiago Philip and Ella Starr.

Today, May 17, marks the tenth anniversary of the freedom to marry coming to the United States! In 2004, the first same-sex couples in the country married in Massachusetts after a landmark, first-of-its-kind ruling in Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders' case Goodridge v. Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Today, Freedom to Marry and Freedom Oklahoma launched a new 30-second television ad that will run across the state for the next week. The ad features the Cuyler family and focuses on Ed Cuyler, a retired Army colonel who served in the Army for 12 years, with 22 years in the Army reserves.
