Breaking: Illinois House passes civil union bill

A bill that would establish civil unions in Illinois has just passed the state's House of Representatives by a vote of 61-52. The bill now heads to the Senate where it is likely to pass. The bill passed a senate committee earlier today early today.

Gov. Patrick Quinn has promised to sign the bill into law should it reach his desk.
