Freedom to Marry announced a partnership yesterday with producers and cast members of Standing on Ceremony, a series of short plays about extending the freedom to marry to gay and lesbian couples.

Standing on Ceremony is an off-Broadway production starring a premiere cast, including Tony Award-nominee and Theatre World Award winner Craig Bierko, Daytime Emmy nominee and frequent “Live with Regis and Kelly” co-host Mark Consuelos, Emmy Award-nominee Polly Draper, and Tony Award-winner Harriet Harris. The show begins previews on Monday, November 7, with an official opening night set for Sunday, November 13 at the Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City. It is produced by Joan Stein and Richard Frankel.

“Witty, warm, and occasionally wacky, these plays are vows to the blessings of equality, the universal challenges of relationships and the often hilarious power of love,” writes the Standing on Ceremony website. A donation of a portion of all the play's ticket sales will benefit Freedom to Marry and other organizations in support of marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
