Today marks the ninth anniversary of the first weddings between same-sex couples in Massachusetts! Now, less than ten years after that historic day in Massachusetts, same-sex couples across the New England region have the freedom to marry.

Today, the National Council of Justice in Brazil - the panel responsible for overseeing the Brazilian judicial system - ruled that government offices that issue marriage licenses have no standing to reject same-sex couples from marriage.

Today, the Minnesota Senate took a final vote on a bill to extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples, making Minnesota poised to become the 12th state to approve the freedom to marry. Governor Mark Dayton is expected to sign the bill tomorrow.

Minnesota House of Representatives votes YES on the freedom to marry

Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives voted in favor of the freedom to marry by a vote of 75-59! The bill will now be heard by the full Senate on Monday.
