On Monday, Freedom to Marry will celebrate its 10th anniversary with "Cheers to 10 Years," an event to pay tribute to the groundbreaking efforts of Freedom to Marry and its founder, Evan Wolfson, while commemorating the 10 years that have passed since same-sex couples began marrying in the United States.

Today’s oral arguments in the Oregon federal marriage case are the latest in a landmark series of cases (including arguments earlier this month before the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for cases involving federal challenges to marriage bans in Utah and Oklahoma) that are poised to expand the number of Americans who, after decades of dedicated struggle, may soon be free to marry.

Today, Lambda Legal filed a federal lawsuit seeking the freedom to marry in Georgia and respect for marriages legally performed elsewhere. The lawsuit joins 64 other marriage lawsuits in 30 other states/territories.

Yesterday in Little Rock, Arkansas, Circuit Judge Chris Piazza heard three hours of arguments in a case filed on behalf of a wide array of plaintiffs seeking the freedom to marry for same-sex couples or respect for such marriages in Arkansas.
