Ask Senator Lieberman to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act

Three years ago this month, the first same-sex couples began to legally wed in Connecticut. Since that historic day, hundreds of gay and lesbian couples have married in our state, bringing happiness and joy- along with critical protections and security- to those couples and their families.

But three years later, the so-called Defense of Marriage Act treats Connecticut's legally married same-sex couples as strangers, denying over 1,000 protections that other legally married couples are afforded.

Senator Lieberman is the only member of the Connecticut Congressional delegation who has not cosponsored the Respect for Marriage Act, which would repeal DOMA.

Will you join Freedom to Marry, Courage Campaign, and the ACLU of Connecticut in asking Senator Lieberman to co-sponsor the bill that will repeal DOMA once and for all?

Fill in the information to the right to add your name to our open letter. We'll deliver it personally to Senator Lieberman's office.
