Call Senator Reed and ask him to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act
Last week, our Federal Director Jo Deutsch delivered hundreds of signatures from Rhode Islanders who called on Senator Jack Reed to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act, the bill that will overturn DOMA. Senator Reed has told reporters that he would decide “very quickly” if he will cosponsor the bill.
But we're still waiting.
Will you call his office and ask him to support the Respect for Marriage Act now?
1.) Dial: 401-943-3100
2.) Say: My name is ____________ and I live in _________, Rhode Island. I'm calling to urge Senator Reed to cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act. He promised that he would make a decision on this critical bill quickly. DOMA is harming families across Rhode Island, and I urge him to announce his support now for the bill that will repeal this harmful law once and for all.
3.) Tell us how the call went using the form to the right.
