Today, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll confirmed that a majority of Americans support the freedom to marry for same-sex couples – the third national poll to report majority support in the past few months. At 53%, the new poll reflects the highest levels of support to date, following nationwide polls by CNN and the Associated Press in August 2010 both coming in at 52% support. Today’s poll shows accelerating support over the past year and growth in nearly every segment of the population.
