A report from the Pew Research Center found a majority of young people (53 percent), Catholics (46 percent to 42), and college graduates (52 percent) support the freedom to marry. Support has also ticked upward in all religious categories including black protestant, mainline Christians, and Evangelicals. The poll also reported an even split in support for the freedom to marry among Midwesterners with 44 percent in favor, 44 percent opposed. [PDF]
