Poll: Majority of Californians Continue to Support the Freedom to Marry

Public Policy Polling

January 2011

A Public Policy Polling survey found 51 percent of voters in California favor marriage for same-sex couples, while 40 percent were opposed. The survey reflects a 5-percentage increase since a September Public Policy poll. Support among Republicans nearly doubled between polls, from 15 percent to 29 percent. Public Policy surveyed 892 Californians from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30. [PDF]
