All New Jersey Democrats cosponsor the Respect for Marriage Act

Over the weekend, we were thrilled to learn that Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey signed on as a cosponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act, the bill that would repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act. With Menendez's support, not only did we gain the 32nd sponsor in the Senate but also a courageous civil rights champion.

Following Senator Menendez's announcement of support, Representative Bill Pascrell of New Jersey's 8th Congressional District signed on as a cosponsor late Tuesday afternoon. Representative Pascrell is the 135th sponsor of the Respect for Marriage Act in the House and is the final member of New Jersey's Democratic Congressional Delegation to sign on.

We thank and applaud our colleagues at Garden State Equality for their strategic and relentless work across New Jersey to grow support for the freedom to marry and the repeal of DOMA.

Are your members of Congress cosponsors of the Respect for Marriage Act yet? Send them a message now and ask them to support the bill that will repeal DOMA once and for all.
