CNN interviews married gay couple facing separation because of DOMA

I wrote yesterday about the heartbreaking story of Anthony John Makk and Bradford Wells, a married bi-national couple fighting to remain together in the U.S. The couple has been married for seven years and Anthony, an Australian citizen, is the primary caregiver for Bradford, an American citizen with advanced AIDS. Because of DOMA, Bradford is prohibited from sponsoring Anthony for permanent resident status.

CNN did this interview with the couple yesterday.

That they are facing the possibility of forced separation is a clear example of how the so-called Defense of Marriage Act harms the families of same-sex couples.

DOMA must be overturned. Click to urge your member of Congress to co-sponsor the Respect for Marriage Act, the federal bill that would repeal DOMA.

Anthony and Bradford are just one of the estimated 40,000 bi-national same-sex couples in the U.S.  For more information on couples like Anthony and Bradford, visit Stop the Deportations.
