Delaware Senate Executive Committee to hear marriage bill on May 1

Next week, the Senate Executive Committee in Delaware will hold a hearing on a bill that would extend the freedom to marry to same-sex couples across the state of Delaware. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1.

This week was already historic for the freedom to marry in Delaware: On Tuesday, the Delaware House of Representatives voted in favor of the marriage bill by a vote of 23-18.

Equality Delaware, the organization leading the charge to pass a marriage bill in 2013, will be on hand at the hearing to provide marriage supporters with up-to-the-minute developments on why marriage matters and what lawmakers in the state are saying about the freedom to marry.
