Equality Delaware leads campaign to win marriage in Delaware in 2013

It's already clear from the first eighteen days of 2013 that this is going to be a big year for the freedom to marry. Legislative campaigns to pass marriage bills have already kicked off in Rhode Island, Minnesota, and Illinois, and the U.S. Supreme Court is gearing up to hear two landmark marriage cases in March.
Now, it's time to win marriage in Delaware. Momentum is at an all-time high, with Gov. Jack Markell pledging strong support and grassroots activists taking action to move marriage forward.
Equality Delaware is leading the campaign to advance a marriage bill this year, and Freedom to Marry is proud to serve as a coalition partner in the campaign to win the freedom to marry for all couples in the state.
For the past year, same-sex couples in Delaware have been able to join together in civil union, which provides many of the critical protections and responsibilities that marriage affords. Passing the freedom to marry in the state will allow couples to express their love and commitment through the full dignity of marriage.
