Evan Wolfson speaks in North Carolina

Freedom to Marry president Evan Wolfson is in North Carolina to speak about the potential impact of the pending constitutional amendment that would ban marriage for same-sex couples. The amendment will be on the ballot on May 8, 2012

Evan spoke first at the University of North Carolina Law School. He will also speak today at forum sponsored by NC Policy Watch and Equality North Carolina – Crucial Conversation: “What would the marriage discrimination amendment really mean for North Carolina?”

Here is an excerpt from Evan’s speech at UNC Law School:

Evan also spoke with blogger Pam Spaulding about the proposed amendment and why the discussion being generated about the freedom to marry in North Carolina is relevant even though the state lacks non-discrimination protections.
