Event: Freedom to Marry President Evan Wolfson Taking Part in Panel on Marriage Thursday

On Thursday March 10th, Freedom to Marry Founder and President will join other leaders from the marriage movement to talk about the issue during this crucial time. The panel at The LGBT Community Center in New York will cover where we stand now and the best ways to keep moving forward at both the state and federal levels.

President Obama's recent announcement declaring the so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" unconstitutional showed the effect that vocal advocacy and a smart strategy can have. In a new article about the inside story of the decision, Wolfson told The Daily Beast, "There are lots of people close to the administration we can now count on to take messages to the president."

Also on the panel will be Equality Matters President Richard Socarides, Empire State Pride Agenda Executive Director Ross Levi, and Brian Ellner, senior strategist for the Human Rights Campaign's effort to win marriage in New York.
