Hawaii Senate passes civil-unions bill with veto-proof majority, 18-7

The Hawaii state Senate passed a civil-unions bill on Friday, sending a strong message to the state House and Gov. Linda Lingle with a veto-proof majority vote. The vote was 18 to 7.
