Marriage ad on TV in NY- check it out!

To win the freedom to marry in New York, we've got to make sure people, including our legislators, see our families and hear our voices.

That's why yesterday, New Yorkers United for Marriage -- the coalition Freedom to Marry created with Empire State Pride Agenda, Human Rights Campaign, Log Cabin Republicans, and Marriage Equality New York -- began running our first television ad to urge Albany to pass the marriage bill now.

The ad will run statewide, providing on-air coverage to complement the work on the ground we are doing together through legislator contacts, phone banks, in-district visits and everything else that is part of a strong campaign.

The number of people who get to see this powerful ad depends on you!

I know how much ending marriage discrimination means to you-- and I don't have to tell you how much momentum winning New York will bring to Freedom to Marry's national campaign. Will you be part of making this victory happen by donating $10 today to help keep our ad on the air?

In this first ad, New Yorkers will get to meet Mary Jo Kennedy and Jo-Ann Shain, who've been together 29 years. Jo-Ann and Mary Jo talk about love and commitment, and why they, like so many other committed couples, want the freedom to marry here at home.

We are working closely with Governor Cuomo, who is traveling the state making the case for the freedom to marry and, like us, urging legislators to pass the marriage bill now. Freedom to Marry has devoted its staff, supporters, and resources, pulling out every stop to get this done. But we cannot do it without you.

Please make a donation to help make sure as many New Yorkers (and legislators) as possible hear from Jo-Ann and Mary Jo. Make the case for marriage in New York now:

Now is the time. New York is the place. Let's do it.
