Maryland House Set to Vote on Marriage Bill Today

UPDATE 2:20 PM: The Maryland House has sent the Civil Marriage Protection Act back to the House Judiciary Committee by a voice vote after several hours of debate. 

UPDATE 11:10 AM: Debate is now underway.

Today could very well be the day that the freedom to marry finally comes to Maryland. The House is scheduled to start debate at 11:00 and a vote will likely happen later in the day. You can follow the minute-by-minute developments on Equality Maryland's Twitter feed, @EqualityMD.

The Senate has already passed the bill and the Governor has promised to sign it, so this is it. A win will make a huge difference in the lives of thousands of Maryland families, like Lisa, Gita, and their two children.
