New York Assembly passes marriage bill

Today the New York State Assembly passed a bill that would secure the freedom to marry for gay and lesbian New Yorkers.  The bill now goes to the State Senate for a vote.  We are thankful to lead sponsor Assembly Member O'Donnell and Assembly Speaker Silver for their leadership today, and for their stalwart leadership and dedication over time to end marriage discrimination.

The bill now moves to a final vote in the state Senate, and more than ever, it's crucial that all New Yorkers who support the freedom to marry take action by contacting their Senator. Click here to do so and help secure a historic win in the Empire State.
