New York City's marriage offices are gearing up for gay marriage if it ever gets through the state Senate, making plans for extra staffing and gender neutral forms, the Daily News has learned. Passage has "the potential to make New York City the Niagara Falls of same-sex marriage," said City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, the first openly-gay official to hold the position. Controller William Thompson recently estimated the state's economy would reap $210 million in three years, with $149 million for the city. [Link]
