N.Y. state's Court of Appeals will on Tuesday hear arguments by the anti-gay Alliance Defense Fund against the providing of government benefits to same-sex couples married in other jurisdictions. The state Department of Civil Service extended health insurance benefits to those spouses of state and local government workers in 2007. [Link]
