Poll: Australians in favor of the freedom to marry

"Most Australians support the freedom to marry, the latest Nielsen poll shows.

"The poll, published on Monday in Fairfax newspapers, found nearly 60 per cent of people support equal marriage rights for same-sex couples, with 37 per cent against.

... "On marriage equality, 23 per cent of those polled said they strongly support legalising it, while 33 per cent said they support it.
... "The national poll of 1,400 people was taken between Thursday and Saturday."
