Standing Up for New Hampshire Families launches touching TV ad

Did you catch the new television ad circulating in New Hampshire about the freedom to marry? Standing Up For New Hampshire Families, a bi-partisan, grassroots group comprised of residents and a leadership council of more than 200 civic, business, academic, and political leaders, released the touching 30-second spot last week for heavy rotation around the state before an expected vote on marriage in early January.
The ad states: “This is New Hampshire – the place we call home. We believe freedom means freedom for everyone—every single person. Don’t take away the freedom to marry.” It includes conservatives, former members of the military, small business owners, and native New Hampshire residents in its diverse array of voices supporting marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Shortly after the new year, the New Hampshire state house will vote on HB 437, which could repeal the popular freedom to marry law that was passed in 2009 and that has allowed thousands of couples in the Granite State to marry and better protect their families. This ad is part of a campaign demonstrating the strong bi-partisan opposition to repeal and to remind lawmakers of their responsibility to protect all families. Just yesterday, Standing Up for New Hampshire Families launched a radio ad with a similar message.
