Update on our plans for 2012 and end of year campaign

Last week, Freedom to Marry kicked off our end of year fundraising campaign and asked for your help reaching our goal of raising $100,000 to fund our advocacy work in 2012. As promised, I want to report back on the progress we’ve made in the last two weeks.

So far, 298 supporters like you have donated $17,251. That means we are a little over 17% of the way towards reaching our $100,000 goal.

Thank you!

The Freedom to Marry Board of Directors is so inspired by your support that they have pledged to match every donation dollar for dollar made before the end of the year up to $100,000. You can make a donation today and have it doubled:

Your donation will help:

  • Put Freedom to Marry staff on the ground to help win marriage battles in key states in 2012
  • Fund innovative public education campaigns focused on communities of color
  • Fuel advocacy campaigns to overturn the so-called Defense of Marriage Act
Freedom to Marry’s action plan for 2012 was developed with input you gave through the Grassroots Survey. You asked us to create a strategy that amplifies our Roadmap to Victory to end the wait for tens of thousands of couples across the nation that want to marry and to have their marriages respected and honored by the federal government. To that end, we are rededicating ourselves to implementing innovative campaigns to grow the majority for marriage, win marriage in more states, and end federal discrimination.

It’s a big challenge, but we know that with your support we can make real strides. Please take a moment and make a donation to fuel Freedom to Marry’s campaign to win the freedom to marry for same-sex couples nationwide:
