Video: First day of New York marriages

Yesterday was a momentous day in our movement to win the freedom to marry nationwide. Same-sex couples across the state of New York said "I do" including 659 couples in New York City. Phyllis Siegal, 76, and Connie Kopelov, 84, who have been together for 23 years, were the first couple to marry in New York City. 

Here's what the scene looked like at Brooklyn Borough Hall with Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz saying "If you're for family values, you should be celebrating today."
