Andre Carson is the U.S. Congressman from Indiana’s 7th district. He is a graduate of Concordia University and has an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. Andre has been a market specialist for Cripe Architects and Engineers. His public service began first at the Indiana State Excise Police as an investigator and then at the Indiana Department of Homeland Security as a supervisor of their anti-terrorism unit.Carson became a U.S. Congressman after winning a special election to fill a vacancy resulting from the death of his grandmother, the late Congresswoman Julia Carson. Andre went on the record as a supporter of marriage equality during his special election victory. Since then he has joined the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Equality Caucus chaired by fellow congressman, Barney Frank.
