Watch: why marriage matters to Mark and Steve

Freedom to Marry supporter Steve Ledoux shared this wonderful video of why marriage matters to him and his husband Mark. They got married in California in 2008 during the brief period when same-sex couples were able to marry before the passage of Prop 8. 

Steve notes that while they are married at the state level in California, the so-called Defense of Marriage Act deprives married same-sex couples of federal marriage recognition and the 1,139 protections that marriage provides.
