West Point military academy hosts first wedding ceremony between two men

This weekend, two graduates from West Point military academy became the first men to marry at Cadet Chapel, the landmark chapel at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The men, Larry Choate III and Daniel Lennox, tied the knot in front of close friends and family members on Saturday, November 2.

In the past year, the Chapel has hosted two separate weddings between women, including a beautiful ceremony for Brenda Sue Fulton, a West Point graduate, and Penelope Gnesin. Sue and Penny, who live in Asbury Park, New Jersey, married at the Chapel in December 2012. Just last month, they were one of the happy couples who celebrated the freedom to marry taking effect in their home state of New Jersey.

The happy couple from Saturday, Larry and Daniel, said they always dreamed of saying "I Do" at West Point. Larry explained, "It's maybe one more barrier that’s pushed over a little bit, or maybe one more glass ceiling that’s shattered that makes it easier for the next couple."
